Friday and Saturday were spent in a workshop with Kerr Grabowski. Kerr is the expert in deconstructed screen printing and an able teacher who kept us laughing and having fun.
The idea behind deconstructed screen printing is that you screen over some sort of texture with thickened dye paste and then let it dry on the screen. You begin screening with clear dye paste which gradually dissolves the dry dye. Each screen pull gives a different image.

Portrait of Nancy – drawn with thickened dye in syringe. All her i’s are dotted and all her t’s are crossed – Magnolia Belle |

Screen was pulled with torn newspaper for pattern. Not successful, but I like this piece. With a little more work it will become a whole cloth quilt.

Purple thickened dye over silk flower & two sizes of bubble wrap was allowed to dry. Started pulling screens with clear print paste and then started adding yellow to pulls until no purple was left. |
| More bubble wrap and brown packing paper texture.
